Two Yips

Jocelyn loves to look through pictures on my phone and talk about the fun we had, (even though sometimes she quickly sneaks to Starfall).

This time, she actually stayed in my gallery and loved all the pictures from our time at Temple Square celebrating Mitchell & Georgia's wedding.

"Momma, dese flowuhs is so pretty. What is dem called again?"

"Tulips. The tall ones are called tulips, but there were lots of pretty ones, huh?"

"Yes dere was. But I yuved duh two yips. Dem is duh prettiest."

"Jocelyn. Listen. They are called tulllllllllips.  Tu - L, L, L, L - Lips. Look at my mouth.  Tulips."

As I looked back in the rearview mirror she says, "Dat is what I said, like dis. With a kissy fish face, ONE YIP & TWO YIPS. SEE, MY MOUPHES, TWO YIPS."

She's got it.

Background

There was a train track right up the road from my niece's house that had some fun backgrounds for pictures.

While Jocelyn was asleep and Jack was busy golfing with the boys, Afton and I decided to go take some photos.

And I realize, well I've known this for forever. It doesn't matter what she stands in front of, she'll always be the center of attention. She'll never be one to blend into the background, lost in the crowd, quietly letting life pass her by.

She'll always be strong, leading others, and standing out, hopefully for the good

And I'm thankful for the awesome, strong-willed, confident, no-nonsense kind of girl that she is. Makes this momma pretty proud.

Better in Utah

There is not much that fits the phrase, "Well, that's better in Utah."

Their roads drive me absolutely crazy. People tend to talk funny, enunciating syllables that shouldn't be enunciated. And don't get me started on the weather.

But I can say, without any hesitation, the parks are better in Utah.

Really Stink

My niece has a spot that she takes family pictures in and they are always remarkable.

It's a little farm just up the street from her home called Wheeler Farm.

We went today and as soon as I saw it, so many of her cute pictures popped into my mind.

So, of course I wanted some cute family pictures here too.

Sadly, ours were not as remarkable. Truth is, they really stink.

But at least we had some fun seeing a bunch of cute, super stinky animals.

Cows stink.

Horses stink.

Sheep stink. (I think this is a sheep.)

Even the baby ones stink.

Ducks stink something fierce.

The good thing though is that the rest of these pictures don't stink.

Theo was not interested.

Thanks Wheeler Farm for some really stinky family pictures, but some fun memories.
