My babes are getting used to our continual hiking adventures.
There seems to be a bit less whining each time we go. Freaking hooray!
It helps that Afton and Jack are so competitive with one another, as to want to race to the top. Even if the top is so stinking high!
It also helps that daddy will carry his sweet little girl on his shoulders when she's feeling too tired. And, hold her hand as she's wanting to jump off rocks like the wild thing that she is. (And isn't her little plumber's crack the cutest?)
As Afton was racing to the top, questioning why she's even doing that, her daddy told her that she'll, "Have great satisfaction once she gets there." This was all the encouragement she needed, surprisingly.
He also mentioned that you get to stack up a bunch of stones to try and build this mountain even higher. All my babes were happy about this.
Once there, beating all of us by a few minutes at least, she said, "Daddy, so, where is my satisfaction?"
To which he responded, "Being first. Getting to the top. Beating us all. THAT is the satisfaction. Or perhaps,
You. Can't. Get. No. Satisfaction."
I laughed. She was not as amused. My girl is obviously not a fan of The Rolling Stones. She'd much rather prefer to stack her stones, to "build a castle," instead.
