Without fail, I hear it.
Every pre-season my Sugar says, "This is the year. The Mariners are going to be great this year. I can feel it. They got this... they got a guy who... we picked up (insert some dudes name here) in the off season..."
Every season, a few months in, he's usually still pretty content. They're usually still doing decent. "If our bullpen would just... if we had a decent closer... if we could just hit the ball..."
Every season, usually after the All-Star break, he looks dejected. And he says, "Mariners are blowing it."
Every season.
But it's okay. We still get our hopes up every season. Because who knows, one time he might actually be right and the Seattle Mariners could actually win the World Series.
And he'd be right when he says, "This is the year. The Mariners are going to be great this year. I can feel it."
