Jack: "Mom, maybe can I have a surfboard for our pool when we move?"
Me: "Sorry bud, but our next house doesn't have a pool."
Afton: "So wait, what?"
Me: "The house we're going to move to in Yucca Valley has no pool."
Jack: "You're kidding me right?"
Me: "I'm not. It also has no grass or a fence. In fact, it's full of pokey plants, bushes, and little cacti."
Afton: "What are we supposed to play?"
Jack: "Well, we have our trampoline and grass to run in."
Me: "Ummmm, there is no grass. All dirt."
Afton and Jack just shake their heads in disapproval.
Then Jack a few minutes later says, "How the heck are we going to play water balloon baseball?"
I didn't know what to say.
