Fancy Nancy

My girl was given this precious book as a gift for being the cutest little flower girl (EVER, if I may add) for our dear friend's wedding. Jason and Yvonne King were spot on in making this little girl truly feel special on that memorable day, that wasn't even about her. She still thinks that it was mostly about Yvonne, but then about Afton. Not so much about Jason. :) Funny girl.

This book has been read so many times since being in our home, but Afton has REALLY taken an interest into "doing everything Fancy Nancy does"  lately. She is speaking in French. Decorating parties for her dolls. Creating "divine desserts" for all to enjoy. Making fancy placemats and napkins. She loves it. I love it. Jack loves the treats he gets from it. Grandma likes it, but it's getting frustrated with picking up sprinkles from off the kitchen floor ALL the time. But again, the most important thing is, my girl LOVES it.

It's little things like this I hope my girl will remember from her childhood and carry on with her babies one day. I love my little fancy Nancy!

Fall Fun for my Babies

I got to sneak, with grandma Jones' help of course, to my girl's preschool fall performance. She was the cutest pumpkin I've ever seen. She got a little nervous when it came time to say her line, but I still feel like she rocked it as the 4th pumpkin in the patch. "Let's have some fun!" was her line, and we really did.

They had some fun activities set up for the families to participate in after the performance. Jack was thrilled to be doing something out of the house and something fun, none the less.

I am sad my babies seem to be missing out on so much of the fun fall weather brings since I'm stuck at home. So many friends keep posting pictures of their families at pumpkin patches and corn mazes. My girl looks at them and says, "I remember when we used to do that." Breaks my heart, but we have many years to make memories.

Baby Names

At this time, we do not know the sex of the baby. Let me assure you, we are NOT one of those crazy couples who doesn't want to know the sex of the child. I couldn't handle that kind of surprise. THE BABY IS SURPRISE ENOUGH. SURPRISE, NO MORE SLEEP. SURPRISE, NO MORE PERSONAL TIME. SURPRISE YOU WILL HAVE THIS BABY STRAPPED TO YOUR CHEST FOREVER! So, basically we will find out the sex because basically, I would be a nervous wreck the whole time trying to prepare for the baby when it is actually here. Along with handling ALL of the SURPRISES it will bring. Joyful, yet stressful surprises.

Since we don't know whether it is a boy, girl, or "hulk smash," as Jack pointed out, it has been interesting trying to think of names.

Here are some ideas from my sweet little family...

Jack likes:
Water bottle
Soda
Purple dot
Thor

Afton likes:
Sparkle
Polka dot
Cinnamon
Princess Celestia
EllaBellaBailey (all together)
Carmella- "I heard a lady calling her doggy that and I just fell in love."

Daddy likes:
Badger- thanks YouTube video on the honey badger that doesn't seem to fear anything.

Clearly, we have a lot of discussing to determine the best name for this baby. So far, we have NOTHING promising.

Any suggestions?

(Sidenote: When I began to write this post, we didn't know what we were having. Now, we do and I'm so glad daddy can't continue to suggest Badger for a little girl.)
