Getting the SCOOP!

Grandma and Grandpa are here and we couldn't be more excited to see them.
"It's been a while, like forever," according to Afton.

For FHE, I thought it would be fun to have my babies get to know their grandparents a little better. I wanted them to get a sense of who they are from their childhood experiences, favorites, loves, and fears. And what better way to get the "scoop" on them, then drilling them with questions while eating their favorite scoops of ice cream.
We placed the scoops in a pile, face down, and each child would get a turn to pick. Whichever one they chose, would be the question the grandparent got to answer.
They took turns and butted in on each other's answers, just like everyday conversation.
Jocelyn used the times when Grandma was sharing her answers to steal her ice cream. Jocelyn had quickly finished her personal scoop of orange sherbet. But, grandma's strawberry was equally delicious.
Lots of laughter and memories shared
Then Jocelyn decided that she needed to eat my cookies'n'cream because I was busy filming. Little stinker.

Daily

She begs for science daily.

"I want it to be the summer of science even when it's winter time too."

"Dis is better than learning my letters."

"Vinegar stinks like butt momma, but I'm still lovin' it."

"Squirts and sizzles."

"You's have to use all your muscles."

"All done. Let's do it again."

Our Cups Runneth Over

We read Psalms 23:5.

We discussed it's meaning.

We talked about who we should show love to. (Everyone.)

We discussed why that's so important. (Because our Savior did.)

We talked about how we can help other's cups runneth over.

We enjoyed delivering these little cups to those who we love.

SNOW Worried

I was "SNOW" worried that I wouldn't be able to get my kids personalized Valentine cards done this year because I have been so busy.

But it came to me last night, as I laid in bed plotting ways to spend all of my Sugar's money... He is convinced I do this.

These will just have to do.

Attach to a tiny bag of marshmallows.

Way cuter than the boring store bought ones, and not even that much more money.

Plus, my babes won't be little for too much longer. I have to splurge while they still let me!

Staircase to Heaven

This post is not to be confused with the Led Zeppelin song, "Stairway to Heaven."

Because in reading the lyrics, even though I've heard the song a bunch of times, I have to be honest. I had no idea what the crap Mr. Page or Mr. Plant were even talking about. I had to research it's meaning online.

The song speaks of a woman acquiring much wealth, only to find that she truly couldn't find happiness or her way into heaven.

But unlike the song, when you are on this trail, one could easily find little pieces of heaven, without spending any money. Little miracles of beauty and life. Little ways to see how amazing our Heavenly Father and His son are for giving us this Earth. And imagine what it must be like as we take the Staircase to Heaven.

We stopped in a little town before Staircase and had some fun too.
