"After the Wedding"

I have a deep love for the movie The Wedding Planner.

I love Jennifer Lopez' entire look from her hair, her makeup, her wardrobe, her job, her whole existence in that movie.

Oh and then Matthew McConaughey... Come on! He is so yummy in everything, but that movie especially.

And the city... I have always been in love with big city life. And San Francisco just has so much character - The hills, the architecture, the culture, all of it.

So, this movie I really just love.

While we were driving through the city, I couldn't help but think about this movie. I thought about if they did a sequel called, "After the Wedding" or "Three Kids Later."

My Sugar, just as dreamy as Matthew, and I, my makeup was a natural look like that of Jennifer's, could totally help with any of the movie ideas, creative input, writing, casting, wardrobe, makeup... whatever. We really could be the next J-Lo and Matthew. And our babies are definitely cute enough to actually be their kids in the sequel.

S'More Science

Solar oven s'mores was on my personal science list for the babes, because they love, love, love s'mores. And I'm hoping after this summer, they also love, love, love science.

But, it's been tough trying to find a day to do it. With all the wildfires happening, the skies have been smoky and we've had no sunlight.

I'm not complaining about the smoke, because I'm very thankful that my home is still safe and has not been in harm's way. Prayers for those who have been affected in so many devastating ways.

But it was a beautiful, sunny day on this last day of summer so we took full advantage of it.

They're currently still outside on our deck cooking in the sunlight while we're attending meet your teacher night.

Fingers crossed that we return to some nicely heated s'mores as a yummy treat.

Family Pets

I had dogs.

Dobermans and a black lab once.

They all died and it was depressing.

My sugar had a cat. He was run over.

I may have even had a fish at one time.

In 3rd grade I think I had a hamster that got hurt on his wheel and died. Sad again.

My babes want so desperately to have pets. Pets of every kind. Every sort. Of every fancy.

And don't get me wrong, I don't hate animals.

But I do hate how they poop. And smell. And require me to keep an extra living thing alive in our home. It's hard enough keeping all of us alive now as it is.

And we've freaking had pets despite my adamant not wanting of them. Fish, tortoise, geckos, lizards.

So for our little family, the odds of getting a family pet now are pretty low.

But that doesn't stop my babes from begging, constantly!

"Can we have a puppy? Can we have a snake? Can we have bunny? Can we have a fish? Can we have guinea pig? Can we have a gecko that we can actually hold?"

Oh yeah, these little buggers already have 2 reptiles living in our home, pooping in our home, requiring our energy in our home. And they want more!

Ninjas

Last night I couldn't sleep.

Imagine that.

I was thinking of somewhere to take my mom that she hasn't visited before and that my babes would enjoy. (If the smoke subsided, of course.)

I thought about this garden that we passed by all the time but have never ventured into. And then I thought about how cute my babes are in their long underwear, that we wore while camping last week.

They always pretend to be ninjas wherever they wear them.

And then my idea came to me.

Ninjas in a Japanese Bonsai Garden

So... here is our ninja photo shoot. (Thankfully the smoke went away due to the overcast of almost rain clouds.)

This photo shoot could also be attempt to get Jack to write a story with these pictures once I print them. My Jack boy is quite creative, but I have to be creative myself in getting him to practice writing.

Hence, a crazy ninja photo shoot just for fun.

I imagine his story will go something like this...

"A long time ago there was a battle between 2 very different ninjas. They were once close, as you see, they were born from the very same mother. But as time passed, they began to fight for their mother's love, causing them to drift apart..."
